Twitter is often full of missives about what’s for lunch, the twists of that reality show, and weather-related rants (okay, maybe that’s just our feed?). But in July 2013, anyone who followed NPR Weekend Edition host Scott Simon started seeing something much different that our day-to-day complaints. Instead, Simon was sharing poignant thoughts from the bedside in his mother’s hospital room during her last few days. These meaningful messages were shared widely and touched many who read them. Now these tweets have become the basis for Simon’s book Unforgettable: A Son, a Mother, and the Lessons of a Lifetime.
