First up this week, we have the latest from New York Times bestselling author Paula Brackston. In Lamp Black, Wolf Grey, Laura Matthews and her husband have given up their city life and moved to Blaencwm, an ancient longhouse high in the hills. Here she hopes that the wild beauty will inspire her to produce her best art and will give her the baby they have longed for. But this high valley is also home to others, such as Rhys the charismatic loner who pursues Laura with fervor. And Anwen, the wise old woman from the neighboring farm who seems to know so much but talks in riddles. And then there is Merlin.

This book tells the stories of both Laura and Merlin. Once he too walked these hills, with his faithful grey wolf at his heel. It was here he fell in love with Megan, nurse-maid to the children of the hated local noble, Lord Geraint. Merlin was young, at the start of his renowned career as a magician, but when he refuses to help Lord Geraint it is Megan who may pay the price. Listen to an excerpt of this enchanting tale of love and magic, read by Marisa Calin, here.

Our next audiobook comes from an author who needs little introduction, New York Times bestseller Allison Brennan. Best Laid Plans is volume 9 in the Lucy Kincaid novel series and finds Lucy, a newly minted FBI Agent, settling into her job in San Antonio when the corpse of a congresswoman’s husband turns up on the wrong side of town. It’s up to Lucy to locate the last person to see him alive: a teenage prostitute who seems to have vanished into thin air. Listen to an excerpt of Best Laid Plans, read by Ann Marie Lee, here.

And last, but most certainly not least, comes the next installment of the Dark-Hunter series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dragonbane. Out of all the mysterious boarders who call Sanctuary home, no one is more antisocial or withdrawn than Maxis Drago. But then, it’s hard to blend in with the modern world when you have a fifty foot wingspan.

Centuries ago, he was cursed by an enemy who swore to see him fall. An enemy who took everything from him and left him forever secluded. But Fate is a bitch, with a wicked sense of humor. And when she throws old enemies together and threatens the wife he thought had died centuries ago, he comes back with a vengeance. Modern day New Orleans has become a battleground for the oldest of evils. Listen to an excerpt of the exlposive audiobook, read by one of the best voices in sci-fi and fantasy, Holter Graham.
