If we’ve been a little quiet recently, it’s because we’ve been super busy with industry events. In an alphabet soup of acronyms and names, we have spent the last week at APAC (Audio Publishers Association Conference), BEA (BookExpo America), the Audie Awards, and BookCon.
During this time, we discussed trends, met with colleagues, spotted some celebrities (shout-out to Mindy Kaling!) and even won some accolades. At the Audies—the Oscars of the audiobook world—Macmillan Audio had three great wins! The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher by Hilary Mantel and read by Jane Carr won in the Short Stories/Collections category, Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson and read by Michael Kramer and Kate Reading took the Fantasy category, and What I Know For Sure written and read by Oprah Winfrey came out on top of the Personal Development category.
All in all, it was an exhausting but exciting week! See our round-up of photos below for a peek into all the festivities.
